TGFB2

A gene on chromosome 1q41 that encodes a member of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFB) family of cytokines. These multifunctional peptides up- and downregulate proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, migration, death and other functions in many cell types. TGFBs transduce their signal by binding to transmembrane growth factor receptors (TGFBR1 and TGFBR2) and their downstream effectors, the SMAD proteins; disruption of the TGFB/SMAD pathway has been implicated in various cancers.

Molecular pathology
TGFB2  translocations to HDAC9 on chromosome 7 (t(1;7)(q41;p21)) is associated with Peters' anomaly, a congenital defect of the anterior chamber of the eye.

2), but just like TGFB2 in the multiplex qRT-PCR, the YTXs induced the same effect on these three genes as the AZAs did.
Similar differences were observed for SNP rs1891467 (TGFB2), where we noticed the differences between all comparisons with the Slovenian population, as well as between GBR and IBS.
Pathogenic variants in all 5 genes that cause LDS, TGFBR1, TGFBR2, TGFB2, TGFB3, and SMAD3 result in loss of wild-type function of the protein product.

Lidral et al (1997) evaluated the association of four candidate genes TGFA, TGFB2, TGFB3, homeobox 7 (MSX1) variations in a population from Philippines; however, no evidence for association of TGFA with nonsyndromic CL/P was found in non-Caucasian population (35).
Moreover, genes upregulated in the MSC-[gamma] group were enriched for the TGF-[beta] receptor signaling pathway (annotation cluster 19, enrichment score 1.74, e.g., FMOD, CCL2, MAPK3K1, SMAD6, GDF15, and TGFB2).
