Jerry was also doing extensive analysis of his mount's performance using a data-logging feature of the TDM and supplied software.
From my telescope's point of view, the TDM looks like an autoguider, albeit one sending very rapid updates.
The scope will accept commands to slew to a new object or location when the TDM is running, but if I needed to tweak the scope's position, I had to first cut the power to the TDM.
With the astrophotographer's long-sought Holy Grail of an essentially perfect telescope drive rate now within reach of the TDM, it's reasonable to ask if we can do astrophotography without guiding.
Although seed number per area, pod number per area, reproductive node number per area, and node number per area responded to TDM in a similar nonlinear fashion (negative exponential relationships), yield responses to these yield components differed.
However, linkages between TDM with yield and yield components were not studied in Board et al.
It is intuitive that a certain amount of TDM is necessary for yield formation and that, at least to some extent, TDM and yield are linked.
Predictors for optimal yield based on TDM levels can be useful tools to farmers for predicting yield potential and diagnosing stress factors that limit yield.
