lactated Ringer's solution
A crystalloid electrolyte sterile solution of specified amounts of calcium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and sodium lactate in water for injection. It is used intravenously to replace electrolytes.
A physiologic solution of distilled water containing 8.6 g sodium chloride, 0.3 g potassium chloride, and 0.33 g calcium chloride per liter; for topical (Ringer's irrigation) or intravenous use.
