1. The innermost or deepest layer of the endometrium.
2. Stratum germinativum.
The superficial or outermost layer of the endometrium.
The outermost horny layer of the epidermis.
The outermost layer of the stratum corneum, which is being shed constantly.
Functional layer of the endometrium.
The innermost layer of the epidermis; a row of cuboidal cells that divide to replace the rest of the epidermis as it wears away. It is part of the stratum malpighii.Synonym: stratum basale (2) See: stratum malpighii
