Strümpell sign(1) An older term for the spontaneous dorsiflexion of the foot, which accompanies passive flexion of the thigh on the hip and is an ill-defined indicator of corticospinal tract disease (spinal paralysis).
(2) The inability to make a fist whilst dorsiflexing the wrist.
Dorsiflexion of the foot when the thigh is flexed on the abdomen. This sign may be associated with spastic paralysis of the leg.
