Sexual arousal, sexual intercouse or masturbation occurring during genuine sleep. Intercourse is commonest with established partners but may occur with others, and the principal trigger is probably bodily contact, especially with fondling. Other triggers include stress, sleep deprivation, fatigue, alcohol and drug use.
