Sigma Theta Tau

The international honor society of nursing, founded in 1922 by six students and an alumna of the Indiana University Training School. There are 424 chapters in the U.S., Taiwan, Australia, Canada, and Korea. The international headquarters is at Indiana University in Indianapolis.

Sigma Theta Tau was founded in 1922 by five nursing students at Indiana University Training School for Nursing (now Indiana University School of Nursing) in collaboration with one of their instructors.
Within six years into her career she pursued an MSN in Nursing from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1977, and during her studies, was an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau honor society.
