In our study; we helped all of 62 amateur and professional athletes, to whom we applied a treatment for semitendinous
and gracilis tendon autograft arthroscopic ACL rupture, to begin their active sport lives in only 4.3 months [Sekil2].
All-inside anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using semitendinous
tendon and soft threaded biodegradable interference screw fixation.
Distal clavicle tunnel widening after coracoclavicular ligament reconstruction with semitendinous
tendon: a case report.
Finally, transection of the semitendinous
muscle tendon was performed to allow coverage of implants and bone defect, similarly to the technique originally described by MONTAVON et al.
The purpose of this study is to analyze fiber types constituting male Wistar rat semitendinous muscle and its myosin heavy chains, as well as to show these muscular fiber behavior when submitted to intermittent training.
After this procedure, semitendinous muscle was removed and frozen in cooled isopentane in liquid nitrogen at -176[degrees]C and stored in a freezer at -80[degrees]C.
Cross-section area of red portion fibers of semitendinous muscle presented no change (Table II.B).
According to histochemical analysis of Wistar rat semitendinous muscle, all pure fibers were present, in which fast-contracting ones (IIA, IID and IIB) were the most expressive in the bouth groups, thus, semitendinous muscle can be rated as an essentially fast-contracting muscle.
The SM originates from the iliac anterior edge through a tendon arch, running at the surface, in the medial side of the thigh, being inserted over the superior third of the tibia, being involved by a aponeurotic sheath, linked to the gracilis and semitendinous muscles; the GM originates, in its main portion, in the inferior (lower) part of the pubis, merged to the short adductor muscle, and fixed in the antero-medial side of the tibia.
The SM, in Baptista Netto's (1944) description, shows fixation in the anterior superior iliac spine in the medial side of the tibia tuberosity, through an aponeurotic expansion that together with the gracilis and semitendinous muscles form the pes anserinus (bursa anserinus), not existing any kind of union between them.
In order to improve anatomical and biometrical knowledge on these subjects, we explore in this work, the semitendinous
muscle innervation and also their origin and disposition, which ate associated to the ischiatic tuberosity (IT), we also referred to their length, division on their principal branches, as well as the localization of their motor points related to the IT.
