GentleLASE for hair removal and the ScleroPLUS for vascular
reported at the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery's annual meeting (April 15-18, Orlando, FL) that Candela Corporation's (Nasdaq:CLZR) popular hair removal laser, the GentleLASE(tm), and the company's ScleroPLUS laser system, together, can safely and effectively treat unsightly leg veins, both large and small.
Candela's GentleLASE is a high-energy, long-pulse alexandrite laser used primarily for hair removal; the ScleroPLUS, the most versatile and advanced laser available today for treatment of vascular lesions; and, the AlexLAZR, the premier laser system for treating pigmented lesions and unwanted tattoos.
The CE mark for the ScleroLASER and ScleroPLUS permits the use of these lasers in all EC member countries, including Belgium, France, Italy, Greece, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Austria and Germany.
Currently, it can be used with Candela's ScleroPLUS, ScleroLASER, and the SPTL-1b Vascular Lesion Laser.
The Precision Series includes Candela's SPTL-1b Vascular Lesion Laser for the treatment of port wine stains, stretch marks, scars and facial spider veins, the ScleroLASER for the treatment of leg veins, and the ScleroPLUS, which treats both vascular lesions and leg veins.
New products recently introduced include the ScleroPLUS, an advanced laser system for the treatment of port wine stain birthmarks, hemangiomas, spider veins, rosacea, stretch marks, vulvodynia, leg veins, scars and warts; and the ALEXLAZR, designed for treating pigmented lesions and unwanted tattoos of multiple colors.
We plan to introduce this device for initial use with our SPTL-1b Vascular Lesion Laser, ScleroLASER and ScleroPLUS.
Our newest ScleroPLUS laser, introduced last month at the summer session of the American Academy of Dermatology, should further accelerate our penetration into these aesthetic markets.
