salbutamolshort-acting beta-agonist drug, used to relieve the bronchoconstriction of asthma. Use in sport is restricted due to its anabolic (and thus potentially performance-enhancing) effects. New WADA guidelines require the degree of bronchoconstriction to be measured by formal lung function testing, with the use of salbutamol allowed only if specific criteria are reached. Requires a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) form for use in sport.
