In some cases the enzyme activates them; in all of them, it increases their water solubility and, by extension, their renal excretion. It also sulfonates dopamine, small phenols and thyroid hormones, including 3,3'-diiodothyronine, triidothyronine, reverse triiodothyronine and thyroxine.
