SRPK2(redirected from SR-protein-specific kinase 2)
SRPK2A gene on chromosome 7q22-q31.1 that encodes a serine/arginine-rich protein kinase which phosphorylates its substrates at serine residues located in regions rich in arginine/serine dipeptides (RS domains). SRPK2 plays a role in phosphorylating SR splicing factors and in regulating splicing. It promotes neuronal apoptosis by upregulating cyclin-D1 expression; it downregulates HBV replication by a non-phosphorylation mechanism, reducing the packaging efficiency of the pregenomic RNA without affecting the formation of the viral core particles.
