SRPK1(redirected from SR-protein-specific kinase 1)
SRPK1A gene on chromosome 6p21.31 that encodes a serine/arginine-rich protein kinase which phosphorylates its substrates at serine residues located in regions rich in arginine/serine dipeptides (RS domains). SRPK1 plays a role in phosphorylating SR splicing factors; it plays a central role in the regulatory network for splicing, controlling the intranuclear distribution of splicing factors in interphase cells, and reorganising nuclear speckles during mitosis.
