SNAPIN(redirected from SNAP-25-binding protein)
SNAPINA gene on chromosome 1q21.3 that encodes a SNARE-associated protein, which is thought to modulate a step between vesicle priming, fusion and calcium-dependent neurotransmitter release by potentiating the interaction of synaptotagmins with the SNAREs and the plasma-membrane-associated protein SNAP25. SNAPIN is expressed in male germ cells and interacts with SNAP23, SNAP25 and STX4A.
