SIX6

A gene on chromosome 14q23.1 that encodes a member of the sine oculis homeobox (SIX) transcription factor family which plays a role in eye development.

Molecular pathology
SIX6 mutations may cause microphthalmia with cataract type 2 (MCOPCT2).
