SIRT7A gene on chromosome 17q25 that encodes an NAD-dependent protein deacetylase, which is required to restore the transcription of ribosomal RNA at the exit from mitosis. It facilitates association of RNA polymerase I with the rDNA promoter and coding regions, and stimulates transcription at the RNA polymerase I complex
