SF3A3

A gene on chromosome 1p34.3 that encodes subunit 3 of the splicing factor SF3A, which is required for “A” complex assembly by the stable binding of U2 snRNP to the branchpoint sequence in pre-mRNA. It may also be required for assembly of the “E” complex.

By BLASTN similarity search of this contig against the human genome sequence, five functional genes (MTF1, INPP5B, SF3A3, FHL3, CGI-94) were found and the gene order was MTF1-INPP5B-SF3A3-FHL3-CGI-94, which was highly conserved with that of human genome.
