SENP3

A gene on chromosome 17p13 that encodes sentrin-specific peptidase 3, which deconjugates SUMO2 and SUMO3 monomers from sumoylated substrates (e.g., from MEF2D, increasing its transcriptional activation capability), from nucleophosmin and from CDCA8. SENP3 is a redox sensor which, when redistributed into nucleoplasm, can enhance HIF1A transcriptional activity by desumoylating EP300.
