SCN2B

A gene on chromosome 11q23 that encodes the beta subunit of the heterotrimeric sodium channel, and plays a key role in its assembly, expression and functional modulation. SCN2B increases the plasma membrane surface area and its infolding into microvilli; it also interacts with TNR and plays a crucial role in clustering and regulation of activity of sodium channels at nodes of Ranvier.
