S100A12
(redirected from S100 calcium-binding protein A12)S100A12
A gene on chromosome 1q21 that encodes a member of the S100 family of proteins, which contain 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs and as a group regulate cell cycle progression and differentiation and other cellular processes. The S100A12-encoded protein may be involved in calcium-dependent signal transduction pathways; its regulatory effect on cytoskeletal components may modulate neutrophil activities and trigger the release of cytokines.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
