sheep sorrel

Herbal medicine
A European weed that contains oxalic acid. It is astringent and used topically for pruritic (itchy) rashes (e.g., caused by poison ivy and abrasions) and internally for constipation, diarrhoea, upper GI ulcers and hypermenorrhoea.
 
Toxicity
Nausea, vomiting, headache; excessive ingestion may cause renal failure due to its high content of oxalic acid.

They are individualized by (i) higher Pinus sylvestris (68-89%) and Juniperus (3-8%) values in group 1 and lower ones in group 2 (22-51% and 2-4% respectively), (ii) lower percentages of Poaceae (3-7%), Cardueae (< 1%) and Genisteae (3-7%) in group 1 and relatively high values in group 2 (16-36%, 2-4% and 13-22%), (iii) the presence of Pteridium (< 1%) and Rumex acetosella s.
In the scrub clearings, silicicolous terophytes of Tuberarietalia become frequent: Aira caryophyllea, Evax carpetana, Rumex acetosella subsp.
