Thoracoappendicular muscle; origin, spinous processes of sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae; insertion, medial margin of scapula above spine; action, draws scapula toward vertebral column and slightly upward; nerve supply, dorsal nerve of scapula.
Synonym(s): lesser rhomboid muscle, musculus rhomboideus minor.
