Rhamnus

(ram'nŭs),
A genus of shrubs and trees (family Rhamnaceae). The bark and berries of Rhamnus cathartica are cathartic; Rhamnus frangula is the source of frangula; Rhamnus purshiana is the source of cascara sagrada.
