RANBP9(redirected from Ran-binding protein M)
RANBP9A gene on chromosome 6p23 that encodes a protein that binds RAN, a small GTP-binding protein of the RAS superfamily. This protein is essential for RNA and protein translocation through the nuclear pore complex; RANBP9 also interacts with other proteins, including met proto-oncogene, homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 2, androgen receptor and cyclin-dependent kinase 11. The RANBP9 protein activates androgen and glucocorticoid receptors in the presence of their cognate ligands.
