TRAF5(redirected from RING finger protein 84)
TRAF5A gene on chromosome 1q32 that encodes TNF receptor-associated factor 5, an adapter protein and signal transducer which links members of the tumour necrosis factor receptor family to various signalling pathways, including that of apoptosis, by associating with the receptor cytoplasmic domain and kinases. TRAF5 activates NF-kappaB and probably JNK. It is expressed in the spleen, thymus, prostate, testes, ovaries, small intestine, colon and peripheral leukocytes.
