Hematology Severe neutropenia, analogous to pure red cell aplasia; it is either associated with thymoma and hypogammaglobulinemia, and responds to plasmapheresis or is associated with other immune diseases eg Goodpasture's disease and responds to antithymocyte globulin or high-dose IV Ig

pure white cell aplasia

Bone marrow failure in which leukocytes are not manufactured and circulated into the bloodstream. It is an uncommon cause of neutropenia.
