Any of several plants reputed to have healing powers, especially Prunella vulgaris, a creeping plant in the mint family that has violet-blue or lavender flowers and is native to Eurasia. Also called heal-all.

A perennial of the mint family that contains alkaloids, bitter principles and volatile oils; it is astringent, and may be used as a throat gargle. It is rarely used by herbalists due to its uncertain efficacy.
