PRPF40A

A gene on chromosome 2q23.3 that encodes a PRPF40 family protein which binds to WASL, suppressing its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and inhibiting its activity. PRPF40A plays a role in regulating cell morphology, cytoskeletal organisation and cell migration, and may play a role in cytokinesis and pre-mRNA splicing. It is widely expressed, especially in the cerebral cortex.
