an enzyme of the glycolytic (Embden-Meyerhof) pathway that catalyzes the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate.

phosphofructokinase

(fŏs″fō-frŭk″tō-kī′nās)
A glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes phosphorylation of fructose-6-phosphate by adenosine triphosphate.
