In a sensitivity test involving all chikungunya serotypes and various alphaviruses, flaviviruses, and one phlebovirus, the RT-RPA assay identified all virus genotypes, with the only cross-reaction occurring with O'nyong'nyong virus.
America, but related to one found in China called SFTSV for Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome, a Phlebovirus belonging to the Bunyaviridae family.
The agent of sandfly fever 'Sandfly fever virus (SFV)' is classified in the phlebovirus species which is an enveloped RNA virus belonging to the bunyavirus group from the arbovirus family.
El Virus Heartland (HRTV) es un Bunyaviridae, Phlebovirus que ha surgido recientemente en los Estados Unidos y China como el agente causal de una enfermedad humana caracterizada por trombocitopenia y leucopenia.
Out of over 800 sand fly species that have been described to date, approximately 10% are proven or suspected vectors of bacteria (Bartonella bacilliformis), viruses (Phlebovirus, Vesiculvirus) as well as Leishmania spp.
RVF is caused by the mosquito-borne phlebovirus, also belonging to the family Bunyaviridae.
Intensive study revealed that the agent involved was a phlebovirus of the Bunyaviridae family similar to one recently identified in China called severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus, or SFTSV.
Sandflies are also vectors of many viruses belonging to three different genera: (i) the Phlebovirus (family Bunyaviridae) including sandfly fever Sicilian virus (SFSV) (1), sandfly fever Naples virus (SFNV) (1), and Toscana virus (TOSV) (1); (ii) the Vesiculovirus (11-12); and (iii) the Orbivirus (13).
