patellar groove

A deep V-shaped groove on the anterior surface of the distal humeral condyle; the posterior surface of the patella slides in this groove.

We cut sections sagittally from the proximal to distal aspect of the patellar groove, stained them with hematoxylin and eosin and 0.2 percent alcoholic solution of toluidine blue, and evaluated them by using a histological grading scale (Table 2) [12-13].
