PUM2(redirected from PUML2)
PUM2A gene on chromosome 2p22-p21 that encodes a sequence-specific RNA-binding protein that regulates translation and mRNA stability by binding the 3'-UTR of mRNA targets. PUM2 may support stem cell proliferation and self-renewal by regulating translation of key transcripts. It is highly expressed in the testes and ovaries, predominantly in germ cells and stem cells; it is downregulated in keratinocytes in response to UVB irradiation.
