TEC(redirected from PSCTK4)
Also found in: Dictionary, Thesaurus.
TECA gene on chromosome 4p12 that encodes a non-receptor tyrosine kinase which contributes to signalling from many receptors and participates as a signal transducer in multiple downstream pathways, including regulation of the actin cytoskekleton. TEC plays a redundant role to ITK in regulating the adaptive immune response; it also plays a redundant role to BTK in BCR signalling for B-cell development and activation, especially by phosphorylating STAP1, a BCR-signalling protein. It also regulates the development, function and differentiation of conventional T cells and non-conventional NKT cells. It plays a role in hepatocyte proliferation and liver regeneration and is involved in HGF-induced ERK signalling pathway.
