Southern did not confirm whether it was considering using
PRB coal at Barry, telling SNL Energy it is "waiting for more clarity on the future environmental regulatory front to make final decisions on the future status of Barry 3.
Dairyland remains concerned about
PRB coal deliveries to Alma "as cycle times must improve to maintain pace with winter demand," she added.
The focus recently has been on the potential for improvement in
PRB pricing over the summer because of these low inventories, but that has not materialized yet.

PRB is a quasi-independent body, and therefore the attorney-client relationship exists only between the
PRB and its outside counsel, not between Milwaukee County and outside counsel.
For example, Southern Appalachian coal costs increased more than 10% annually in 2001-10, while
PRB rates grew 1.
All of these factors have contributed to what will be a disappointing first quarter for
PRB.
South Hilight is contiguous to Arch's Black Thunder mine and contains some of the highest quality (9,000 Btu/lb) coal in the southern
PRB.
