PPIH A gene on chromosome 1p34.1 that encodes peptidylprolyl cis-trans isomerase H (cyclophilin H), which, as with other PPIs, accelerates protein folding. It catalyses the cis-trans isomerisation of proline-imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. PPIH participates in pre-mRNA splicing; it may play a role in the assembly of the U4/U5/U6 tri-snRNP complex, and may act as a chaperone.
