PP cell

An enteroendocrine endocrine cell found in the pancreatic islets that produces pancreatic polypeptide.

The evidence for the altered biogenesis of beta cells, delta cells, and PP cells in GK rats was suggested by immunohistochemistry, showing the simultaneous presence of SST- and insulin-positive cells in small endocrine masses (not seen in Wistar controls).
