ATP2B1(redirected from PMCA1kb)
ATP2B1A gene on chromosome 12q21.3 that encodes a member of the family of P-type ion transport ATPases, which are characterised by the formation of an aspartyl phosphate intermediate during the reaction cycle. These enzymes remove bivalent calcium ions from eukaryotic cells against large concentration gradients, and play a critical role in intracellular calcium homeostasis.
