PROKR1(redirected from PK-R1)
PROKR1A gene on chromosome 2p13.1 that encodes the G protein-coupled receptor for prokineticin 1, one of a family of secreted proteins that promote angiogenesis and induce strong gastrointestinal smooth muscle contraction. PROKR1 is exclusively coupled to the G(q) subclass of heteromeric G proteins; its activation mobilises calcium, stimulates phosphoinositide turnover and activates p44/p42 mitogen-activated protein kinase.
