CLEC2A

A gene on chromosome 12p13.31 that encodes a C-type lectin domain protein which enhances TCR-stimulated T-cell expansion by upregulating anti-apoptotic proteins. CLEC2A may modulate T-cell homing to lymph nodes through SELL. It facilitates immune recognition of keratinocytes by interacting with KLRF2 and stimulating natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity. CLEC2A is primarily expressed in the skin.
