SPAG16

A gene on chromosome 2q34 that encodes sperm-associated antigen 16, which is necessary for sperm flagellar function, playing a role in motile ciliogenesis. SPAG16 may help to recruit STK36 to the cilium or apical surface of the cell to initiate steps of construction of the central pair apparatus of motile cilia.
