KAT2B

A gene on chromosome 3p24 that encodes a ubiquitously expressed enzyme which has significant acetyltransferase activity with core histones (H3 and H4) and nucleosome core particles. KAT2B inhibits cell cycle progression and counteracts the mitogenic activity of the adenoviral oncoprotein E1A. It is recruited by HIV-1’s Tat protein; it may regulate its transactivating activity and help induce chromatin remodelling of proviral genes. KAT2B is most abundant in the heart and in skeletal muscle.

To a local family in crisis, for example, attending a performance like the Nutcracker ballet at the Prairie Center can provide much needed respite from their cares and worries," said Theresa Olvera, Executive Director of the PCAF. "A donation to the Prairie Center Arts Foundation can bring people to experience the arts who may otherwise never have such an opportunity."
E bem verdade que o nucleo profissional da Educacao Fisica, principal, mas nao unico, "responsavel" pela promocao das PCAF, ainda tem muito a avancar para se consolidar no SUS.
(2013) PCAF ubiquitin ligase activity inhibits Hedgehog/Gli1 signaling in p53-dependent response to genotoxic stress.
HATs including pCAF and CBP are responsible for acetylation of CIITA at lysine(s) (K) 141 and 144 [14].
Here, we further investigated the epigenetic regulation of C-cell cultures via acetylation by analyzing the expression of acetylated histones and HATs such as GCN5 and PCAF. Lysine acetylation of histones, transcription factors, and other proteins affect chromatin structure, gene activity, and cell growth [31].
When researchers injected PCAF into mice with damage to their central nervous systems, this significantly increased the number of nerve fibers that grew back, indicating that it may be possible to chemically control the regeneration of nerves in the central nervous system.
Based on sequence conservation within the HAT domain and substrate (histone) specificity, nuclear HATs can be grouped into four different families, Gcn5/PCAF (includes yeast Gcn5 and its human ortholog, PCAF), MYST (includes MOZ, Ybf2/Sas3, Sas2, and Tip60), p300/CBP (includes human paralogs p300 and CBP), and Rtt109 (named for regulator of Ty1 transposition gene product 109) [3, 34].
Main histone acetyl transferases (HAT), which use acetylCoA as a substrate, are p300/CBP and pCAF, while histone deacetylases are HDACs and sirtuins [25].
To assess the severity of the child's disability, parents completed the 12 items that assess activities of daily living (ADLs) on the Personal Care Assessment Form (PCAF; Phillips, Patnaik, Dyer, Naiser, Johnson, Fournier, & Elliott, 2011; available at http://pcaf.tamu.edu/).
Of interest, alterations in both memory capacity and responses to stress also have been observed in mice that lack a molecule called p300/CBP-associated factor (PCAF), which has a similar function to CBP and also has HAT activity (Kalkhoven 2004; Maurice et al.
