A gene on chromosome 6p21.1 that encodes cullin-9, a cytoplasmic anchor protein in a p53-associated protein complex, which regulates its localisation and subsequent function and may be part of an atypical cullin-RING-based E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex.
