PAK1

A gene on chromosome 11q13-q14 that encodes a PAK protein of the serine/threonine p21-activating kinase family, which are key effectors that link RhoGTPases to cytoskeletal reorganisation and nuclear signalling. PAKs serve as targets for the small GTP-binding proteins Cdc42 and Rac; PAK1 regulates cell motility and morphology.
