DCTN5

A gene on chromosome 16p12.2 that encodes dynactin-5 (a subunit of dynactin), a cytoplasmic dynein (molecular) motor involved in minus-end-directed transport. The encoded protein is part of the pointed-end subcomplex and appears to bind membranous cargo.
