Oddi's sphincter

Etymology: Ruggero Oddi, Italian surgeon, 1864-1913; Gk, sphigein, to bind
a band of circular muscle fibers around the lower part of the common bile duct and pancreatic duct, near the common duct junction with the duodenum.
