STAT5B(redirected from OTTHUMP00000198374 transcription factor STAT5B)
STAT5BA gene on chromosome 17q11.2 that encodes a member of the STAT family of transcription factors, which are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases in response to cytokines and growth factors. The STAT5B protein product is activated by and mediates the responses of many cell ligands, such as IL2, IL3, IL7 GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin and various growth hormones.
In a subset of acute promyelocytic leukaemias, STAT5B fuses to RARA (retinoic acid receptor-alpha), resulting in signalling pathway dysregulation that may cause APLL.
