KPNA1

A gene on chromosome 3q21 that encodes an alpha subunit of karyopherin, which plays a key role in nuclear protein import as an adapter protein for nuclear receptor KPNB1. KPNA1 interacts with recombination activating protein RAG1 and may play a role in V(D)J recombination.
