diethylcarbamazine

A drug used to treat the parasitic worm diseases FILARIASIS and ONCHOCERCIASIS. The drug kills both the microfilaria and the adult worms but may provoke severe reactions when the worms die. The drug is on the WHO official list but is not available on the UK market. A brand name is Banocide.
