NEK7(redirected from NimA-related protein kinase 7)
NEK7A gene on chromosome 1q31.3 that encodes a NEK serine/threonine protein kinase which plays a key role in cell cycle progression. NEK7 is required for microtubule nucleation activity of the centrosome, cytokinesis and formation of robust mitotic spindles. It interacts with NEK9 and is highly expressed in the lungs, muscle, testes, brain, heart, liver, leukocytes and spleen.
