NPFFR2(redirected from Neuropeptide G protein-coupled receptor)
NPFFR2A gene on chromosome 4q21 that encodes a receptor for NPAF (A-18-F-amide) and NPFF (F-8-F-amide) neuropeptides (morphine-modulating peptides) that may function in pain modulation and regulation of the opioid system. NPFFR2 can also be activated by various naturally occurring or synthetic FMRF-amide-like ligands. It mediates its action by associating with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
